[Abstract]
Using the results of a web-based questionnaire, we investigated the relationship among the light environment from daytime to before bedtime, sleep quality and skin condition. The analysis included 1,834 women aged 20 years and older who reported staying during the day with natural light. Analyzed by age group, the results showed that those in 30s to 40s had better skin conditions with better sleep quality, and those in 40s who stay in red lighting (incandescent-lamp color) before bedtime had better skin conditions than those in white lighting (daytime white color and daylight color). From these results, it is suggested that there is a relationship between sleep quality in daily life and skin condition, and between the lighting environment before bedtime and skin condition.
